The men's coxless four competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London took place at Dorney Lake which, for the purposes of the Games venue, is officially termed Eton Dorney. Dorney Lake (also known as Eton College Rowing Centre, and as Eton Dorney as a 2012 Summer Olympics venue) is a purpose-built rowing lake in England. It is near the village of Dorney, Buckinghamshire, and is around 3 km (2 miles) west of Windsor and Eton, close to the River Thames. The lake is privately owned and financed by Eton College, which spent £17 million developing it. Additional grants, totalling £500,000, were obtained from Sport England, UK Sport, the DCMS and SEEDA in order to build the lake's finish tower. The project was completed in 2006, after 10 years of construction. Jade Uru (born 20 October 1987) is a New Zealand rower. He is from Ngāi Tahu tribe and brother of Storm Uru. The broadcaster Tui Uru (1926–2013) was their great-aunt. Tui Uru's father, the Reform Party MP Henare Uru, was a great-grandfather to the rowers. Sean O'Neill (rower)
Sean O'Neill (born 15 August 1980 in Limerick) is an Irish rower from St Michael's Rowing Club. O'Neill started rowing while in New Zealand but returned to Ireland in 2008 to try to secure a place in an Irish crew. He competed for Ireland from 2006 to 2008. He returned to New Zealand in 2009 and competed for New Zealand from 2010 to 2012, after which he retired from international competition. Olympics O'Neill competed in the men's coxless four at the 2008 Beijing Olympics for Ireland finishing in tenth place. He competed in the 2012 London Olympics in the men's coxless four for New Zealand finishing eleventh. Chris Harris (rower)
Christopher Harris (born 19 October 1985) in Durban, South Africa is a New Zealand rower. Harris started rowing while at Whanganui High School. He competed at the 2012 Olympics in the men's four, and the boat came fifth in the B final. He won a bronze medal at the 2015 World Rowing Championships. At the 2017 New Zealand rowing nationals at Lake Ruataniwha, he partnered with Robbie Manson in the men's double sculls and they became national champions.
